Ricardo Johnson Pastor Ricardo Johnson received his call into the ministry at the early age of 17 while attending Second Baptist Church in his hometown of Medina, Ohio. Upon graduation from High School, he attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, for one year, then returned to Ohio for a season of ministry as Associate Minister at Second Baptist Church. After that, Pastor Ricardo attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he graduated in 1985.

Upon graduation, he stayed in Tulsa to work as a Home Bible Fellowship leader at Victory Christian Center under the guidance of Pastor Billy Jo Daugherty. Later, he returned to Akron, Ohio, to serve with Pastor Clifton Norwood, a close family friend and Pastor of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Ricardo's other ministry work includes serving as a counselor on a Christian Boy's Ranch, working with troubled inner-city youth, and serving in prison ministries, where he has seen many lives transformed by God's power.

Currently Pastor Ricardo serves as Volunteer Ministry Coordinator and a welcomed addition to the Pastoral Staff at Church on the Rise, where his responsibilities include overseeing many of the 33 ministries and helping people find a place to "get plugged in" to the work of the ministry at Church on the Rise.  Pastor Ricardo also oversees Pastoral Care as well as organizing several special outreach projects during the year.

Pastor Ricardo and his wife Sharon have a son, Ezra and a newborn daughter, Nissi.
